It's finally happening! The legendary race "The Breiale Mile" is a reality.

The breiale mile plays on the legendary song “Den breiale stilen” by Oral Bee & Mr. Pimp Lotion.

After being talked about for several years in the Lotion & Smestad Podcast, the race will be held on September 22nd; the same day as the concert at Rockefeller. The 'cast' described a 10 km race, but with DAB Ultra Skaters on the team there was no doubt that a breial mile is longer than an ordinary mile - and what is more natural than defining a breial mile as 14.50 km?

75 registered participants are looking forward to running a breial mile, hopefully in breial style.

Where does the trail go?

• The course is 14.50 km, a kilometre. Total elevation gain 300 meters, and the surface is hard-packed gravel road and asphalt. • The course will be marked with DAB tape the evening before, but it is advisable for everyone to familiarize themselves with the course beforehand.

Start number, how do I get it?

The only way to get a start number is on race day, at Kongen Marina. Start number distribution will take place from 16:15 (remember to bring the email from DAB as a receipt).

Start lists, will they be published?

We are working to get the GDPR regulations under our skin, but start lists will be published well in advance of the race.

Will there be timing during the race?

There is no formal timing. The event takes place under the DAB umbrella, and is known for keeping timing on a personal level - freedom under responsibility. Strava is the only approved app for recording time. Remember the following: Tag the club “DAB Ultra Skaters” in your Strava session from the race, it forms the basis of the results list.

Will there be pacing?

Yes, pacing has been reported at Den Breiale in under the hour, under 01:15 and under 01:30.

Is there luggage storage available at the race event?

It will be possible to leave luggage at the start/finish, at your own risk. The DAB crew will be present during the race, but takes no responsibility for any theft.

What facilities are available at the start/finish area?

There are toilets at Kongen Marina, and there will be an opportunity to take a dip after the race. Kongen Marina also has a sauna available for “Den Breiale Milens” participants, and there are showers adjacent to the sauna.

How do I get here?

What happens if there is bad weather on race day?

There is no such thing as bad weather!

Will there be an award ceremony?

Yes, there will be cash prizes for the winners of the following competition classes: men, women & unisex. There will also be a participant raffle of consolation prizes from our sponsors at AfterRun.

Will there be drink stations on the trail?

Yes, work is underway to set up a drinking station at Sollerudsstranda, after approximately 10 km, as well as recovery drinks at the finish line at Kongen Marina.

What's the deal with AfterRun?

After the race, Kongen Marina is the venue for AfterRun for all participants and any support/buddies.

AfterRun also serves as a prelude to the concert of Da Playboy Foundation (Oral Bee, Mr. Pimp Lotion & Big Ice) at Rockefeller that same evening. California vibes are expected; and visits from very official/certified rappers. Kongen Marina has a delicious menu of drinks and food; as well as the possibility of a sauna, shower and bath.
