ABOUT DAB ULTRA

DAB Ultra Skaters was founded in the fall of 2021 with a clear vision: to redefine cross-country skiing and make hello. From our roots as a group of eight friends, we have grown into a dynamic community of individuals who share a common passion for speed, adventure, and freedom. Our club is built on a strong foundation of values, inspired by the community and loyalty of MC culture, but with skating and activity as our focal point.

Our background

Many of us have backgrounds in skate and snowboard culture from the 90s and 00s – a time when we lived on the edge and challenged conventions. We remember the time of graffiti, improvised stunts and an uncertain future, but have chosen to channel this energy into something positive. Today we are fathers, workers and creative souls who have found a new passion in skating and cross-country skiing. DAB Ultra Skaters is about more than just training – it is about identity, difference and a strong community.

Our Values

Freedom:

We cultivate skating as an expression of freedom and a rebellion against the established. Skating is more than a technique – it is a lifestyle and an attitude. “Skating is not a crime” is our mantra, and we wear it with pride.

Community:

Our community is the core of the club. We build strong bonds between members, in the local community and at all our events. We share experiences that go far beyond the ski slopes. Whether you are an experienced skater or new to cross-country skiing, you will find support and belonging at DAB Ultra Skaters.

Respect:

For history and our surroundings - and for the future. We honor Bill Koch, the man who revolutionized cross-country skiing with skating technique. At the same time, we embrace cross-country skiing's rich history and iconic destinations and runs. We believe in building on the best of the past, while looking forward.

Change:

We believe that cross-country skiing and the sport needs an upgrade. We have so much to learn from the unorganized - action sports have managed to capture the interest of the masses. Activities must be opened up and attract new audiences, bigger shows and more action. We want to move away from the pampering and boys' club culture, and create an arena where private initiative and implementation can drive the sport forward!
